Callender Howorth completed a full refurbishment of a Belle Époque penthouse in Paris for American clients from California. Originally stripped of its architectural details and outdated, the apartment was redesigned to improve spatial flow and modern functionality, adding features like large bathrooms, a wine room, and a high-end kitchen.
The project reinstated historic elements with bespoke paneling, ceilings, and doors, including a butterfly-motif ceiling in the drawing room. The interior concept follows a “jewel box” theme, using vibrant colors, rich materials, and a mix of vintage and contemporary furniture. Art plays a key role, with a curated mid-century collection from Lost Art Salon in San Francisco.
The penthouse now serves as a romantic, eclectic retreat that reflects the clients’ love for France and provides a comfortable European sanctuary for their family.
