Sophisticated and elegant Mayfair lives up to its reputation as the centre of London’s high-class living. Perfectly located between Oxford Street, Regent Street, Piccadilly and Park Lane, this unique enclave manages to appeal to an eclectic population; a mix of diplomats, fashionistas and businessmen.
As such, Mayfair interior designers reflect the diverse tastes and character of the people who call its streets home, all while remaining true to certain essential traits: luxury, style and affluence. If you are a Mayfair resident and looking to redesign the interior of your property, it is important to partner with a professional design team that knows not only the area and its personality but how to seamlessly balance the feel of this prestigious postcode with your bespoke design requirements.

We recently completed the refurbishment of a three-storey Mayfair mews house, nestled in behind Marylebone High Street. The unassuming Victorian exterior gives little clue as to the beautifully bright and open space within. The project involved a complete overhaul of the top floor, which has been transformed into a spacious master bedroom that features a bar in the dressing room. The client wanted us to create a space where they could comfortably entertain guests. Our Mayfair interior designers team completed the look with lots of unique finishing touches that add to its allure.
Known for its broad Georgian thoroughfares and graceful square gardens, most of the architecture conforms to the Regency style of the later Georgian era. The three main squares (Grosvenor, Hanover and Berkeley) that dominate the area demonstrate this style. These days, the majority of the restored buildings lining the squares are used as business premises but showcase how interior design in Mayfair W1 has evolved.
An area of high historical importance, much of the design influence in Mayfair can be drawn from the cultural attractions that are classic and elegant in nature, such as Handel House Museum on Brook Street and the Royal Academy of Arts. As reflects its status as one of London’s most prestigious addresses, luxury brands on Bond Street rub shoulders with trendy boutiques on South Molton Street and bespoke suit tailors along Saville Row. Some of London’s most exclusive restaurants are located in the area with Gordon Ramsay’s at Claridges, Nobu and Mews of Mayfair being top dining spots while Mayfair’s hidden private members’ clubs further add to the mystique of this west London neighbourhood.
Callender Howorth understands Mayfair’s timeless sophistication, but more importantly, how to ensure your personality is present in your interior design project without compromising on any of the neighbourhood’s elegance.
